Bursary Competitions in partnership with MSC Business College

As you are all aware, MSC Business College and SABC Education partnered to give more exposure to the fact that MSC Business College awards 150 bursaries on an annual basis. Bursary Application Form, click here.

Competition duration

The competition is open for entries from 13 January to 31 March 2015.

The first screening of our very exciting clip started on the 13 January and will conclude on the 31 March 2015. The clips advertising the competition and entry details are aired on the following programs:

  • It’s for Life on Wednesdays 11:00 to 11:30 – 13 January – 31 March 2015
  • Geleza Nathi on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00 to 6:00 am – 13 January – 31 March. Revised material will be aired from the 20th of January
  • Shift on Mondays and Tuesdays 11:00 to 12:00 - 13th January – 31 March 2015
  • Various radio stations will also play our clips in all different languages and this will create even greater awareness. The start date for this still needs to be finalised but will be done early next week when SABC is back from leave.

Competition entry

All programs will direct the viewers and listeners to the following link where they will be encouraged to enter. Entries are only allowed via this platform, and no other entries will be accepted – Please note (NO WWW NEEDED)


Should any student or entrant visit a campus for assistance to complete the entry, your Student Advisors or Campus staff could assist them to enter.

  • National Certificate: Business Administration
  • FET Certificate: Human Resources Management and Practices Support

  • 17 February 2015
  • 17 March 2015

    A list of entrants will be sent to all Franchisees/Campus Principals to invite the most suitable candidates for interviews.

Franchisee responsibilities

The following needs to be done from a Campus point of view to ensure we are very successful in this endeavour:


Where a prospective student is unable to complete the entry online, he or she will be allowed to visit a Campus where a Student Advisor or Campus Staff will be permitted to assist with the entry process. The process has been outlined above, so please ensure that everyone is familiar with this.

Campuses are also encouraged to spread the word about the competition. SMS messages can be sent to prospective students and interested parties. Remember, the more entries we receive, the greater your pool of prospects for any further campaigns in the future.

Selection of winners

As all entries will be online, a list of all entries will be sent to each Campus on 27 January, 17 February and on 17 March. The Franchisee/Campus Principal needs to invite prospective students for interviews to ensure we pick the most suitable candidate as a winner. Bursary allocations are as follows:

Head Office will be hold 10 Bursaries and should a Campus require more, a motivation needs to be submitted to Marketing for consideration. Should these not be handed out via the Campuses, Head Office will allocate these by way of competition.


Interviews need to be conducted and finalised within the week following the draw date – where possible. Should a prospective student be unavailable, exceptions will be allowed.

When interviewing the prospective student, look for passion, spark and ultimately a future ambassador of the MSC Business College brand. We would love to keep in touch with these winners to see how they experience our brand and use them on social media to attract new students.

As soon as a winner has been chosen, the student’s name and ID number has to be sent to Marketing so that we can finalise the process.


Once the winners have been communicated to Marketing, we will furnish the winner with an official letter stating that they have won. Bursary Tablets may be collected from Braamfontein for all the Northern Campuses and all Eastern Cape Campuses will collect from East London. Should you require a courier service for the distribution of the Tablets, you will be liable for the courier fee as well as the necessary insurance while in transit.


By law, we need to have a copy of the competition rules available at all times. Please ensure that the Terms and Conditions are printed and available should any member of the public need to view these. The Terms and Conditions will also be loaded onto our website.

The registration fee must be waivered for all winners.

In conclusion, as mentioned before, this partnership will offer us the perfect opportunity to build the MSC Business College brand even further, ensuring that we become an even greater force to be reckoned with in future. This is a fantastic opportunity, and we need to make the most of this.
